Cake pops are taking over the bakery world and I want in! For me, it all started when my mom bought me “Cake Pops:Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats” by Angie Dudley, aka Bakerella.
I made my first cake pops in 2010 for Halloween. They weren’t bad for my first time.
I only made a few more batches that year. And I didn’t make any more until just this past month for my daughters 9th birthday. She wanted them for school. They were a HIT! People loved them and couldn’t get over them. The compliments made me start thinking….so I did it again for Valentine’s Day and then I was hooked! Just 8 nights ago I was laying in bed and couldn’t sleep and it came to me, “why don’t I sell my cake pops?” So that was it! I decided to make this a full time thing. So I got everything I needed to start last weekend and everything has just fallen into place.
I am so excited for this new business venture. It will allow me to continue to stay at home and do the things I do best..being a mom AND still make some additional income for my family.
I always loved to bake, but never really thought about selling my goodies. I have always been creative, and now I can put those two together and make magic, lol.
And on a side note, I have one more love—film, aka videography! I have always had a love for it. Every since I was a little kid. So a couple of years ago I filmed a friends wedding and realized how much I love filming such a special day between 2 people. And we aren’t talking just standing there with a tripod and creating a 3 hour video that you will never watch. Wedding videos are so different today! Picture you own music video. It’s your very own movie and you will want to watch it over and over again….BUT anyway….if interested you can visit that site at www.katieomalleyfilms.com. We’ll see if I can keep both businesses going, lol.
So, here we are February 24, 2012 and I have so much to look forward to!! I can’t wait to share this journey and my life with all of you, so stay tuned!!!
